New Schultze Gunpowder Company Ltd
Registered 1898. Registered to take over existing business with large factory in the New Forest. It became the largest local employer and supplied 75% of the worlds’ sporting gunpowder. Captain Schultze, a Prussian artillery captain, has been credited with being the first to make smokeless gunpowder. Name changed in about 1900 by removing ‘New’. Company number 56599
