Plymouth Union Bath Company
Formed by Royal Charter in 1828, the company choosing to add ‘Royal’ to its name when opened in 1830. The classical building contained several swimming baths, dressing roooms, showers and douche baths. After several successful years of operation the baths were demolished in 1847 because it was in the way of the South Devon Railway terminus being built at Millbay.
