Formed in 1895 with head office in St. Petersburg. Certificates after 1905 show the head office as Makeevka (now Makiivka, Ukraine). Initial capital was 2,500,000 roubles in shares of 125 gold roubles. Capital was increased in 1898 by the issue of 5,000 ordinary shares of 187.50 roubles (equivalent of a gold rouble). In 1905, the ordinary shares were reduced to 112.50 roubles. By the end of 1907, capital had increased to 12,600,000 roubles in 37,000 ordinary shares of 112.50 roubles and 45,000 privilege shares of 187.50 roubles. The company owned coal mines and metal processing plants.
