Gorsedda Junction and Portmadoc Railways Company
Incorporated on 25th July 1872 to improve and maintain an existing line built in the 3ft gauge, running from the Gorseddau slate quarries to Portmadoc. It was narrowed and extended before re-opening in 1875 carrying goods and minerals only.
Capital £20,000 in shares of £10 each. Loans of £6,666. New capital raised in 1876 £10,000 and loans £3,333, and preference shares issued.
