Description
The firm was established in 1871 and were makers of agricultural machinery. The joint-stock company was formed in 1907; shares were mostly held by the firm of Elworthy in England. At the outbreak of WWI, the factory employed over 2500 people. The factory was utilised as a munitions factory in 1916, to aid the war effort but was seized by the Bolsheviks in 1918.
