Cork and Bandon Railway Company
Incorporated on 21st July 1845
A 20 mile line connecting the two towns, built in the 5ft 3in Irish gauge. The line was to include a tunnel which was later bypassed and the company name changed to the Cork, Bandon and South Coast Railway in 1888. The company was merged into the Great Southern Railways (Ireland) in 1924.
Capital £240,000 in shares of £20 each. Loans of £80,000. New capital of £48,000 in preference shares, and a further £30,000 in 1854-56.
