Chillagoe Company Limited
Registered June 1905 in Victoria. In liquidation February 1913. Capital £350,000 in 10/- shares increased to £500,000 in December 1906 and then to £587,500 in December 1911.
Formed as a second reconstructed of the Chillagoe Railway and Mines Ltd, registered 1898 and reconstructed as the New Chillagoe Railway and Mines Ltd., in 1902. The company owned a railway that ran from Mareeba to Chillagoe and eventually Etheridge in Queensland. 2,400 acres of mineral ground was held in the area around the railway at Chillago. The company floated the Mungana (Chillagoe) Mining Co., Ltd. to work a proportion of this area. Additional ground was acquired at Etheridge near to the railway, this ground was floated at the subsidiary Etheridge Gold Mines Ltd., in 1911. The company expanded further in 1911 with the acquisition of 3,200 acres of coal bearing ground as well as acquiring the assets of the New Einasleigh Copper Mines Ltd.
The company was reconstructed as the Chillagoe Ltd.
