Old Colony Railroad Company
Incorporated 5th August 1863 as a continuation of the Old Colony Rail Road Corporation, incorporated in 1844. (The name is also given as Old Colony Railroad Corporation and Old Colony Rail-Road Corporation). A major network of lines throughout Massachusetts and part of Rhode Island. Aquired in 1893 by the New York, New Haven & Hartford system.
