Description
Originally founded in 1852 as a mechanical workshop by German emigrant, Gustav Arnoldovitch Lessner. It became a joint-stock company in 1898 and car production started in 1901. The company produced many different car models as well as utility vehicles such as buses, vans, fire trucks. Production was both for civil industry and for the military; the company built submarines for the Russian Navy in later years. It was nationalised in 1918/19.
