Memphis and Ohio Rail Road Company
Chartered in Tennessee as the Nashville & Memphis Railroad, 4th February 1852 to build a line between Memphis and Paris, Tennessee. Name changed to the Memphis & Louisville Railroad Company in 1853 and again in 1854 to the Memphis & Ohio. Connected with the Memphis, Clarksville & Louisville RR at Paris. Purchased by the Louisville & Nashville RR on 1st July 1867 and the company defaulted on its interest payments.
