Denver Hotel Company Ltd
Formed in England in 1889 to acquire the Windsor Hotel in Denver, Colorado following the liquidation of Denver Mansions Ltd. The Windsor Hotel, on the northwest corner of Eighteenth and Larimer Streets, was built in 1879–1880, partly financed by millionaire Horace A. W. Tabor, one of the grandest and most up-to-date hotels in the West. The main building was 125 by 225 feet and 112 feet to the top of its tower. The exterior was faced with lava stone trimmed with red sandstone and finished with ornamental iron fretwork. Calamity Jane was said to have shot holes in the ceiling when they refused to serve whisky to a woman. Following a gradual decline the hotel was torn down in 1970. Dissolved <1916.
