British Electric Traction Company Limited
Registered 26th October 1896 to acquire British Electric Traction (Pioneer) Company Limited which had been formed a year earlier. Originally formed in 1895 to aid in the electrification of tramways in the United Kingdom. It became the largest operator of electric trams. Diversified over the years into Motor buses. Developed into a conglomerate of miscellaneous companies in transport, entertainment and construction.
