Honduras: 1867 5% Conversion Loan
Issued £90,000 for conversion of Honduras’ part of the Central American Federation Loan which was divided between constituent nations on the breakup of the Federation in 1839/40. £55 new were issued in exchange for £90 of the old debt. Secured on customs receipts of the Port of Amapala. In default by 1872. In 1909 holders were invited to deposit bonds with the Council of Foreign Bondholders in echange for CFB receipts. About 75% of bonds were deposited by arrangements were abortive. A further agreement was made in 1925 under which bonds could again be deposited. This applied to all loans contracted before 1872.
