This was second company of the same name, the first being chartered in Maine in 1837. This was chartered in 1867 to build dams to control the logging traffic on Nahmakanta and other interlinked lakes. Taken over by Great Northern Paper Company in 1953. Income derived from the tolls paid per log passing the dams.
