The company has it’s origins in the early 19th century, producing it’s now famous soap. Probably most famous for the use of the painting ‘Bubbles’ by Millais in it’s extensive advertising campaign of the 1890’s. Registered under the Companies Act of 1890. Acquired by Unilever.
