Berks and Hants Railway Company
Incorporated on 30th June 1845
A broad gauge line to run from Reading to Newbury and Basingstoke, proposed by the Great Western Railway. It was extended in 1860, this known as the Berks and Hants Extension Railway. The Great Western Railway took possession in 1846, a year before the lines were opened.
