National Omnibus and Transport Company Ltd
An important company registered in 1911 as the National Steam Car Company Limited to acquire several regional bus and coach companies. Company number 114932. By the 1930’s it had changed its name and owned over 700 buses and coaches and had absorbed over 50 other companies. Much of its stock was owned by the big railway companies and on the formation of the British Transport Commission in 1948 the company went into liquidation and the business came under the control of the Commission.
