Provided passenger and freight services from Liverpool to Rosario (port of the Central Argentine Railway) via Bordeaux, Monte Video and Buenos Ayres. The company’s first passage was made in 1871, and two years later the company lost a cargo steamer, the ‘Clan Alpine’ and 13 of its staff in an accident at Lizard Point, Cornwall on its journey back to Liverpool.
