Incorporated in New Jersey to lease the Province of Acre from the Bolivian Government. Conflict between Bolivia and its larger neighbour Brazil created the Acre Wars between 1899 and 1903. Following a couple of failed attempts to obtain control Bolivia made a contract with the newly formed company to lease the province but later reneged following much public objection. Brazil finally acquired the province from Bolivia in 1903.
