Western Telegraph Company Ltd
Formed in 1898 by the amalgamation of the Western & Brazilian Telegraph Company with the Brazilian Submarine Telegraph Company. Amalgamated in 1929 with the Eastern Telegraph Company to become Cable & Wireless. Certificates often signed by Sir John Denison Pender, son of Sir John Pender, founder of the Eastern Telegraph and he was soon to take over the position on the death of his father. His father was also founder of the Brazilian Submarine Telegraph in 1873 which led to his son becoming director of the new Western Telegraph. Dissolved <1916. Company number 62586
