Union Insurance Society of Canton Limited
Formed by Dent & Co. in 1835 with offices in Macau but moved to Hongkong in 1841. Originally formed as a mutual society the assets were divided every few years until 1874. It was then registered under the Companies Acts of Hongkong on 24th October 1882. Name changed to Union Society of Canton Ltd. in 2002.
Capital 2,500,000 dollars in shares of 1250 dollars. Divided circa 1908 into shares of 250 dollars.
