The Hippodrome was opened in 1900 during the Paris Exposition in Place Clichy and was home to various shows including Bostock’s Circus. Opened as a Cinema by Compagnie des Cinama-Halls in 1907 but then passed to this company at the height of roller skating boom. Taken over by Geaumont and renamed Gaumont-Palace to become the largest cinema in the world.
