Société des Soufres de Nissyros en Commandite, sous la Raison Sociale S. Ralli Fils & Cie
Formed in Constantinople about 1881. Nissyros is a small Greek volcanic island near the Island of Kos. Sulphur was mined on the island by this company controlled by the well know international bankers Ralli Brothers. Still a tourist attraction, the yellow sulphur blow holes can still be seen. The Ralli family came from Chios near the Turkish coast which probably explains the Ottoman company registration, and operated a merchant banking business in Constantinople as well as London, Paris, Persia and India.
Capital £50,000 in shares of £1000.
