Bank of Bengal
Founded as the Bank of Calcutta in 1806. Renamed Bank of Bengal in 1809. Later incorporated by Charter. Re-incorporated under 1876 Companies Act. Capital in 1876 – 2,00,00,000 rupees. Merged with the other Presidency banks in 1921 to form the Imperial Bank of India.
