Clara and Banagher Railway Company
Incorporated in 1880.
Originally incorporated in 1861 as the Midland Counties and Shannon Junction Railway. The line ran 19 miles and connected with the Great Southern and Western Railway. The name was changed to the Clara and Banagher Railway in 1880, and the line opened finally in 1884, becoming part of the Great Southern and Western in 1895.
Capital £115,000 in £10 shares. Loans of £38,300. £50,000 of original shares cancelled and re-issued at 5% preference in 1866.
