Rathkeale and Newcastle Junction Railway Company
Incorporated on 22nd July 1861. A 10 mile line between the towns, subscribed to by the Limerick and Foynes, and the Waterford and Limerick companies by £5000 each. The line was vested in the Great Southern and Western Railway in 1902.
