Waterford, Limerick and Western Railway Company
The Waterford and Limerick Railway was incorporated on 21st July 1845. A line running between the towns over 77 miles. It opened in 1854 and was re-named the Waterford, Limerick and Western Railway in 1895 when it made a connection with the Great Western Railway (England) via Ferry crossing. The line was amalgamated with the Great Southern and Western Railway in 1901.
