Mediterranean Electric Telegraph, Société en Commandite sous la Raison John W. Brett et Cie.
This underwater (submarine) telegraph connected the Islands of Corsica and Sardinia and then onwards to the North coast of Algeria. The African cable failed on several attempts and the concession was surrendered in 1856. John W. Brett was a pioneer of submarine cables in Europe and was also involved with the Atlantic cable in 1854.
