Concession granted in April 1872 with head office in St. Petersburg. Initial capital was 7,006,875 roubles (metallic) in shares of 125 roubles. The undrawn shares were converted into 3% bonds in 1889. The railway ran from Riajsk to Vyazma, west of Moscow, on the line to Smolensk and Poland. The company was nationalised in 1889.
