The Aleksandrov Sugar Factory Company was founded in 1873 to take over the sugar factories and refineries of the Kiev merchant Israel Brodsky. In 1912, all shares in the company were owned by a consortium of Russian and French banks headed by the Russian Bank for Foreign Trade. (Source: FHW)
