The company was founded in 1895 to work the gold and platinum mines in the Ural Mountains and other areas of European and Asian Russia. Its mines included Uralskie (Orenburg), Troitzkie (Katchkar), Mariinskie (Tomsk), Ononskie and Iljinskie (near Lake Baikal). The company also held shares in several other mining firms: Lenskoe (2230 shares), Aimaks Touchetoukhan-Tsetsenkhan (630 shares), Amgunsker Gold Industry (78 shares) and Pri-Amur Gold Industry (30 shares).
