Formed in 1872 with head office in Gorlovka (now Horlivka, Ukraine) and later in St. Petersburg. Initial capital was 2,500,000 roubles in 25,000 ordinary shares of 50 roubles and 12,500 privilege shares of 100 roubles. By 1917, capital had increased to 6,250,000 roubles through additional issues of privilege shares.
