Description

The company was founded by the Belgian Solvay brothers to produce and sell their artificial soda in Russia. Soda is an essential product in everyday productions such as plastics, glass, paper, etc. Once up and running (1873), Solvay quickly expanded internationally. By 1900, they controled 95% of the world production of soda. They had become a multinational firm with factories in England, France, Germany, Austria, the USA and Russia.
