Originally founded in 1899 as Compagnie du Chemin de Fer Régional Saignelégier-Glovelier to build a narrow-gauge railway from Saignelégier to Glovelier. Opened in 1904. A special feature of the railway was the hairpin bend at Combe-Tabeillon, which helped overcome the elevation of almost 500 metres between the two terminals. Reconstructed and constituted 23rd May 1908 as this. In 1945, it merged with three other Jura railways to form Cie. des Chemins de Fer du Jura à Saignelégier. Steam-powered until 1953, then electrified.
