Incorporated on 12th July 1858
A mixed gauge line running over 23 miles between the towns, also authorised to convert the Andover Canal into a railway. Building of the line and canal conversion was completed by the London and South Western Railway, the company later being leased to them.
Capital £130,000 in shares of £10 each, loans of £43,000. New capital of £15,000 raised by preference shares in 1862.
