Barclays Bank (Dominion, Colonial and Overseas)
Incorporated in 1926 as the overseas arm of Barclays Bank. It was a combination of the National Bank of South Africa Ltd., The Colonial Bank and the Anglo-Egyptian Bank Limited. Branches were throughout South Africa, Rhodesia, and the West Indies. Changed to Barclays Bank D.C.O. about 1955.
Capital £10,000,000 in 2,400,000 8% cumulative preference shares of £1, 2,682,500 ‘A’ shares of £1, and 500,000 ‘B’ shares of £5 leaving £2,417,500 to be issued at the directors discretion.
