A line to link Craven Arms (Shrewsbury and Hereford Railway) to Montgomery (Oswestry and Newtown Railway). The incomplete line formally opened in 1865 but ran into financial difficulty during the financial crisis in 1866 and it never reached completion. It was closed in 1935 after having been excluded from the Railway Grouping Act of 1922.
Capital £180,000 in shares of £10 each, loans of £60,000. New capital for extension £133,000.
