Boston, Stamford and Birmingham Railway Company
Incorporated on 26th June 1846
A 22 mile standard gauge line, to form junctions with the Midland and the Lynn and Ely Railways. The company was authorised for three extensions and additional branches in 1847, but was leased permanently to the Great Northern Railway in 1848 and purchased by them following completion of their London to York line.
Capital £252,000 in shares of £20 each. Loans of £83,000. Additional capital raised in 1847: £280,000 and loans of £92,666.
