Brighton, Lewes and Hastings Railway Company
Incorporated on 29th July 1844
An independent line built as an extension of the London and Brighton Railway from Brighton to St.Leonards, opened in 1846. This line took the place of the Lewes branch proposed by the London and Brighton Company, and was purchased by them in 1844.
