British Gas Light Company (Limited)
Incorporated by Act of Parliament and Deed of Settlement in 1824. It operated works at Norwich, Hull, Trowbridge, the Potteries, Holywell, Ayr and Clonmel in Ireland. In 1857 it was incorporated with Limited Liability. Company number 1015. Under the Gas Act of 1948 all undertakings were transferred to the relevent Gas Boards and the company wound up.
