
Buckfastleigh, Totnes and South Devon Railway Company
Incorporated on 25th July 1864
A broad gauge line running from the South Devon Railway to the named towns. Working arrangements were held with the South Devon Railway from its opening in 1872-73. The line was extended to Ashburton and became amalgamated with the Great Western company in 1878.
Capital £48,000 in shares of £10 each. Loans of £16,000. Capital doubled in 1865 and increased by £50,000 in 1878 in the form of ‘B’ debenture stock.
