Chester and Crewe Railway Company
Incorporated on 30th June 1837
A line providing Chester with a connection to the rest of England, via Crewe. The line included an aqueduct carrying the Ellesmere canal, a feat of engineering at the time, and various other viaducts and bridges. It was absorbed by the Grand Junction Railway before opening in 1840.
