A 9 mile line, connecting Coniston Water with the Furness Railway. This company would work the line, provide all rolling stock, and pay all expenses for five years from the opening of the line in 1859. Within this period the Coniston Railway became amalgamated with the Furness Railway, which later became part of the London, Midland and Scottish system.
Capital £45,000 in £10 shares and loans of £15,000.
