Ely and St. Ives Railway Company
Incorporated on 7th April 1876
An 18 mile line connecting the Cambridgeshire towns, originally incorporated as the Ely, Haddenham and Sutton Railway in 1864. The Great Eastern Railway subscribed £12,000 to the project and the line was later connected with that railway, and its name changed to the Ely and St. Ives Railway. The original section was opened in 1866, and the extension in 1878, both passing to the Great Eastern the following year.
Capital £36,000 in shares of £10 each, loans of £12,000.
