Frederick Gorringe Limited
Frederick Gorringe established his drapery business in 1858 in Buckingham Palace Road. Later replaced by a large new building which was patronised by many of the staff from Queen Victoria’s household. This company formed in 1903. Store closed in 1968. The company name was changed to Hillsteam Limited. The Gorringe name carried on in a new store in Queensway, West London.
