Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway Company
Incorporated on 4th August 1845.
A mixed gauge line connecting the Oxford and Rugby Railway with the two latter towns. It opened in 1854 having been completed by the Great Western Railway who operated the line. The line formed part of the West Midland Railway in 1860, which later joined the Great Western system.
Original Capital £1,500,000 in 30,000 Shares of £50 each. Loans of £500,000. Additional for extension in 1846 of £220,000. Total Capital £3,070,000 in shares, and £1,022,999 in loans.
