Somerset Central Railway Company
Incorporated on 17th June 1852.
A broad gauge line running from the River Brue to the Bristol and Exeter Railway and Glastonbury. It opened in 1854, extended numerous times and standard-gauge rails were added in 1859. The line amalgamated with the Dorset Central to form the Somerset and Dorset Railway.
