
Tamplin & Son’s Brewery Brighton Limited
Originally founded in 1821 at the Phoenix Brewery, Waterloo Street, Brighton. Company registered 13th May 1889. Took over many other local breweries until itself acquired by Watney, Combe, Reid & Co. Ltd in 1953.
Capital £170,000 in 8,500 Preference shares and 8,500 ordinary shares of £10 each. Increased by 1899 to £240,000 by the addition of a further 7,000 Ordinary shares of £10. By 1918 the capital had increased to £340,000 by the addition of 10,000 5½% Cumulative ‘A’ Preference shares of £10.
