National Explosives Company Ltd
Registered 1888. The company was established at Hayle in Cornwall to produce explosives such as Dynamite, Cordite, Nitro-Glycerine and Gelignite, mainy for use in the mines but expanded to produce for the armed forces especially during WWI. Company re-registered as National Explosives Comany (1907) Ltd. Production ceased in 1919 but the 300 acre site was still used for storage until the 1960’s. Dissolved <1916. Company number 27215
Capital £200,000 in 132,000 ordinary shares of £1, 1000 deferred shares of £1 and 134,000 preference shares of 10 shillings.
