Phonopore Syndicate Ltd
Registered 1887. Reconstructed as the Phonopore Company Limited in 1892. A useful invention allowing the apparatus to be connected to the same wiring as the Morse telegraph to give simultaneous speech and telegraphy. This was of particular interest to the railways saving the expense of laying new telephone cable and the machines were widely used until the 1930’s.
Capital £90,000 in 60,000 Ordinary shares of £1 and 30,000 Deferred shares of £1. Increased to £100,000 by an extra £10,000 ordinary shares by 1892.
